Terms of Service

Private beta. Last updated 18 August 2026.

The short version

  • Cornelius gives your Claude Desktop, ChatGPT Desktop or Codex a memory, a persona and a daily routine. The AI itself is provided by your platform, under its own terms.
  • The private beta is free, invitation-based, and provided as is. Things will change, sometimes without notice.
  • Your memory is yours. Export it or delete it whenever you like. Your agent has no delete tool; only you do.
  • You are responsible for what your agent does inside your platform and for the content you and it store.
  • Be decent: no illegal content, no attacks on the service, no storing other people's data you have no right to hold.

The agreement

These terms are a contract between you and [Company legal name] ("Cornelius", "we", "us") for your use of the Cornelius service, website and dashboard. By creating an account or connecting Cornelius to an AI platform you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a contract. The beta is for individuals using their own accounts; if you use Cornelius for your work, you confirm you are allowed to connect the data you connect.

The service

Cornelius is a remote connector that stores and serves the memory, persona, instruction set and skills of a personal AI agent. The agent runs inside an app you already have: Claude Desktop, ChatGPT Desktop or Codex. Cornelius performs no AI inference. It stores text your agent writes and returns it when your agent asks. Email, calendar and other connectors are authorised and used inside your platform; Cornelius never holds those credentials.

Because the agent runs on your platform, what it can do (read your inbox, draft replies, run on a schedule) depends on that platform's features, plans and permissions, which you control there.

Beta terms

  • The service is in private beta. Access is by invitation, free of charge, and may be limited in numbers.
  • We may add, change, pause or remove features, limits and supported platforms at any time, and we may end the beta. We will try to give notice of material changes by email.
  • If we introduce paid plans later, nothing will be charged without your explicit agreement, and you will always be able to export your data first.
  • Feedback you give us about the beta may be used to improve the product without obligation to you.

Your account

Keep your sign-in credentials safe and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission. You are responsible for activity under your account, including what your agent writes into memory while connected to it. One account per person, please.

Acceptable use

Do not use Cornelius to:

  • store or process content that is illegal, or that you have no right to hold, including other people's personal data collected without a lawful basis;
  • attempt to breach, probe, overload or interfere with the service, other users' data or our providers;
  • attempt to make your agent bypass the tool permissions and safeguards Cornelius provides, or to poison another user's memory;
  • resell, sublicense or offer the service to third parties, or scrape it;
  • reverse engineer the service except where the law allows it regardless of this clause.

We may suspend or limit accounts that break these rules, and we will tell you why unless the law prevents it.

Your content

You own the content stored in your account: memory files, event log, persona and routine files, and everything your agent writes on your behalf. You give us a limited licence to store, copy, version, back up and serve that content solely to run the service for you.

You can export all of it as a zip and delete all of it from the dashboard at any time. Your agent has no delete tool. Deletion is permanent once completed; we confirm it by email. Earlier versions of files are kept until you delete, so that every change your agent makes stays reversible.

You are responsible for the content you and your agent store, including making sure you are entitled to store information about the people and organisations it describes.

Third-party platforms and connectors

Anthropic, OpenAI, Google and any other provider whose product you connect are not parties to these terms. Their terms and privacy policies govern your use of their products, including what their models do with the memory Cornelius returns to them. We are not responsible for their availability, changes to their connector or scheduling features, or their pricing. If a platform change breaks part of Cornelius, we will say so on the site and do our best to adapt.

Instructions and skills

Cornelius ships a central instruction file and a small library of curated, read-only skills that steer how your agent behaves. We update these centrally to improve every user's agent; the change reaches your agent the next time it starts a session. Skills contain how-to text only, never executable code, personal data or credential requirements. You cannot add or modify skills during the beta.

Our intellectual property

The Cornelius software, website, documentation, name, logo and mascot belong to us or our licensors. Apart from the rights expressly given here, we grant you no licence to them. Claude is a trademark of Anthropic; ChatGPT and Codex are trademarks of OpenAI; Cornelius is not affiliated with either.

Disclaimers

  • The service is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.
  • Your agent's output is produced by your AI platform, not by us. It can be wrong, incomplete or late. Briefs, draft replies and reminders are aids, not advice, and you decide what to send or do.
  • Actions your agent takes inside your platform (for example creating drafts, reading calendars, writing memory) are taken under your account and are your responsibility.
  • Proactive features depend on your platform's scheduler and connectors, which may fail, pause or change. The watchdog nudge is a courtesy, not a guarantee.
  • Memory poisoning through external content is reduced by trust tags, scanning and an immutable raw layer, but it is not eliminated.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for all claims relating to the service in any twelve-month period is limited to [the greater of the amount you paid us in that period, which during the free beta is zero, and USD 100]. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from content you store or actions your agent takes under your account in breach of these terms.

Ending the relationship

You can stop at any time by deleting your account in the dashboard; export first if you want a copy. We may suspend or terminate accounts for breach of these terms, for security reasons, or if we end the beta, giving notice where reasonably possible. On termination your data is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy. Sections that by their nature should survive (content ownership, disclaimers, liability, law) survive termination.

Changes to these terms and governing law

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be announced by email or in the dashboard at least 14 days before they take effect, unless a change is required sooner by law or security. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the new terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of [Israel], and disputes will be resolved in the courts of [Tel Aviv, Israel], without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections where you live.
